Restoring Historical Stone Walls with Patrick Ryan

Restoring Historical Stone Walls w. Patrick Ryan
September 7 & 8, Saturday & Sunday
10am – 4pm
$200

Students will work together to restore a historic cemetery wall at Delaware County Historical Association. Participants will learn the basics of building and restoring free-standing dry-laid stone walls under the instruction of a stone wall professional with over 20 years experience.

Participants will learn how to sort and choose stones, use gravity to create a stable structure, while contributing to the conservation of local history and culture.

Bring your own lunch, gloves, heavy boots, and a stone hammer (if you have one).

Instructor Pat Ryan has been building stone walls since 1995. His stonework can be found at Brewery Ommegang, the Lakeview Event Center (in Laurens), and at numerous private residences and religious communities. Based in Oneonta, Pat travels the world looking at stone ruins.

Cancellation Policy:

Please consider carefully before signing up for one of our classes or purchasing for another person. Due to the small class size for in-person workshops, each participant makes an important contribution to the group dynamic and canceling within short notice can make it difficult to fill your spot. If you do need to cancel, please be aware of our policies:

Cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the start date of a workshop in order to receive a refund.

Registration and material costs (if applicable) will be refunded, minus a non-refundable $25.00 registration fee. Although extremely rare, we reserve the right to cancel any class up to 48 hours beforehand for a full refund.
